You may have walked by looking for the tea room. You may not have been aware it exists. People have ideas of what tea should be but in the 20 years of this business develops the realization that tea makes it’s own way.
Currently with the deck issue on the building, regular hours aren’t realistic since the door has to be completely open for the sign to be present. Tea service in the morning is not realistic as it is very cold and minimal customers have come through.
The current trajectory of use of the space is aimed at private events and occasional open house style events until the weather changes. Public events will be posted to the calendar, starting with the Spring Tea.
The plan is that once Spring arrives, morning tea service will resume. March 20th will be the official first day, starting at 7:30am.
Another consideration is to be open in the afternoons on certain days of the week. These would be days that there will be a workshop planned.
Eventually the storefront and signage will be installed and there will be hours added.
My Necessitea goes beyond the tea room. Gift sets for tea for 2 will be added as will bridal showers and wedding tea service. These services will be offered beyond wedding events.
New packaging and labeling is being reviewed. By June, these new services should be completely implemented.
The newest products are the monthly tea club subscription and the collaborative tea flavor Golden Needle. A Cen-tea-nial tea to commemorate the 100th anniversary of West Seattle Chamber of Commerce. In store sales only.
The tea room is open for in person sales every month during the Art Walk, or arrange a private visit by request. Until the room hours can be implemented, collaborations with neighboring businesses is the current focus.
